What’s new in 1.77.0: a Halloween visitor and a clearer backup warning
In Handy 990 1.77.0, a costumed dinosaur flies across your home screen for Halloween. If your study record becomes too large to back up, the app now tells you what happened. Here’s how to find the seasonal surprise and understand the backup warning.
After updating, you don’t have to hunt for a new button. In late October, the dinosaur might fly over to you.
These instructions use the English app interface. Update once your store offers 1.77.0; availability may vary by platform.
Halloween Happysaur: a short visit to your home screen
Each year from October 25 through 31, a costumed Happysaur may fly across the home screen on a broom. Tap Happysaur a few times to see different reactions. Your practice options stay where they are; there’s no need to chase a broom to start studying.
Prefer a quieter home screen? During the season, open Settings and turn off Halloween Happysaur at the top. You can switch it back on there too. The switch only appears during the season, so it is normal not to see it after Halloween.
Happysaur’s sounds follow the Playful sound effects setting; it does not change practice audio. If your device uses reduced-motion accessibility settings, the flight animation may not appear.
Cloud backup warning: your data is still on this device
This warning applies to signed-in users; check your sync status in Settings → Back up & sync.
If your study record is too large to back up to the cloud, the app now explains why: “Your study record is too large to back up to the cloud right now. Everything on this device is safe, and you can keep practicing.”
This means the cloud backup has not completed; repeatedly checking your connection will not fix the size limit. You can continue practicing on this device. If you need help, contact us through About & Help → Feedback. This update improves the message and handling, but it does not yet remove the cloud record size limit.
